Ancestral Lines
DNA of the Kazakh tribes
One line, C2, shared with the Mongols, accounts for half of the corpus of Kazakh tribes. The rest is split among eight lines, and almost each has a tribe of its own: the Siberian N — Sirgeli, the steppe R1b — Kypshak, the East Asian O2 — Naiman, G1 — Argyn, Q — Kangly, J1 — Ysty.
Corpus composition
Share of each line among the men of the corpus. The rest is four single-tribe lines (O2, G1, Q, J1) and isolated carriers of others.
Lines
- C2 The Steppe line Shared with Mongols, dominant in 13 of 26 tribes.

- N1a Siberian kinship A young branch shared with the Buryats and the Nogais.
- J2 No tribe of its own A Middle Eastern line that reaches half in no tribe.
- R1b The Steppe branch 52% among Kypshak, more often the steppe branch than the West European one.
- O2G1QJ1 A tribe for each line Naiman, Argyn, Kangly and Ysty — four stories of paternal lines.
